"In learning you will teach and
  in teaching you will learn".
                                         - Phil Collins.
We should start learning new things each day to achieve our goals. When you start learning you will have the capacity to teach others and when you teach others you will learn a lot more than normal.Let us learn something new today.Today's concept is "Conjunctions".

Conjunctions can be defined as connectors which connect words or group of words. There are three basic conjunctions which we commonly use everywhere. They are:

Let us briefly look into the basic conjunctions..
1.And-It connects similar or like ideas.

This is actually 2 sentences:
1st sentence-Priya bought grapes.

Hope you have got an idea.Let us move on to the next..
2.Or-It connects two or more possibilities or choices.
  Eg:You can read or write.

 "You can read or write".

Here comes the last one..
3.But-It connects contrasting ideas.
Eg:Priya loves sweets but she hates ice-cream.

Contractions

Hello Friends..

We all like doing things short and sweet. We can say it as sending messages to our friends like gd for good,ni8 for night, mrng for morning and so on.Instead of typing the whole word, words are shortened and used to save time. The same concept is used in grammar which we called as "Contractions".It is a shortened form of words/group of words.

For clear understanding let us look into these examples..

1. I am - I'm.
2. I have - I've.
3. We are - We're.
4. She is - She's.
5. Let us - Let's.
6. Can not - Can't.

The below image tells you what contractions does.It shortens a particular word.

Here the apostrophe( ' ) in the word aren't represents the missing letters.Contractions usually combines a noun + verb/ verb + not.

Here is a conversation between two people..Let us see to it..

Friends do you find the contractions in the above conversation.

It + is is shortly used as It's.
Is + not is shortly used as Isn't.

Contractions provide flexibility. You can use these contractions when you need to save your time both while writing and speaking.
